The Art of Knowledge
Beyond the network paradigm
BRET! I think I may be onto something big. Read this post I just wrote about viruses - especially the end. I am thinking a lot about how the ideas right now in education that are "hot shit" are built around the "network" paradigm. And then you have viruses, which EXPLOIT the network paradigm, to create another paradigm. What is that paradigm? I think thats the next level. Don't just be looking at networked models of education, but at models which exploit and blow that paradigm to pieces, and then, whats the model that blows viruses to pieces? Thats what you gotta do - is look a couple paradigms ahead. Tell me if this makes sense.
Also, I might suggest reading this thing, called Viruses of the Mind. I dont really subscribe to all this guy's theories, but the shit that he says about an almost wholly viral internet gives me some kind of sparkle of insight into some other important possibilities that I have been overlooking in terms of how knowledge does and can potentially work.
